To promote reading habits and a love for books, St. Michael Public School organized its Annual Book Fair & Reading Carnival 2025, transforming the campus into a world of stories, ideas, and imagination.
Organized in collaboration with leading publishers and children’s authors, the event featured hundreds of books across genres — from fantasy, science, and biographies to educational activity books for all age groups. Students, teachers, and parents were invited to explore and purchase books at discounted rates, fostering a culture of home libraries and self-learning.
A special section of the fair was dedicated to interactive reading corners where younger children sat with teachers and volunteers for storytime sessions. Puppet shows, audiobook screenings, and comic book readings added a fun, engaging twist to the event.
The “Read Aloud Challenge” encouraged students from Classes I to VIII to read in front of their peers and share their favorite characters or stories. Winners received bookmarks, certificates, and surprise book gifts.
Guest speakers included local authors and motivational readers who interacted with the students, shared writing tips, and spoke about the magical journey of being a lifelong reader.
To mark the occasion, a “Book Donation Drive” was launched, collecting over 700 books for underprivileged students in nearby areas — instilling the values of sharing and empathy.
The Reading Carnival was not just an event; it was a movement toward building a generation of curious minds and thoughtful readers. At St. Michael Public School, we continue to believe that books are the stepping stones to both academic and personal growth.
